HidroClean was invited by the mayor of Niterói to join the campaign "Rio loves the rivers". During the event, HidroClean collected contends and solid residues of the river Maceió. Proper equipment for oil containment had been used in the river, such as, vessels, containment booms, absorbent booms and pads.
Technicians were there to carry through the operation and give some environmental tips for citizens who were there watching the event.
The campaign "Rio loves the rivers" was launched mid January by Rio de Janeiro state.
The first action was Saturday, 20th of January. At this date, Rio's citizens helped the clean up of te main rivers that crosses the state. In Niterói, the rivers clean up, started at the beach of San Francisco, in the estuary of Maceió river.
At the event, we had the presence of Niterói mayor, Mr. Godofredo Pinto (PT), the president of the Environment State Agency (Feema), Mr. Axel Grael, Environment City Secretary, Mr. Jefferson Martins, of Development, Science and Technology, Mr. Vitor Júnior, the elect member of the house of representatives, Mr. Rodrigo Neves and the state undersecretary of Metropolitan Region, Mr. Alexander Philip Vieira, who represented the governor Mr. Sergio Cabral Filho.
The performance of HidroClean occurred in three stages.
First in the estuary of Maceió river, at Guanabara bay.Second in the first curve of the last river and next one to the avenue that passes on the Maceió.
"The appositive HidroClean and has as principle to participate of events that have as focus the ambient education" - it affirms the Superintendent of Quality, Security and Environment (QSMS) of the HidroClean, Augusto Antoun.
